I have been eating here for 15 years and never once had a bad meal. It is take out only. The ingredients are fresh and they do not think spicy is flavor like a lot of other Thai restaurants.
Panang curry was amazing and of course the chicken pad Thai was just as good, the man who took my order was very nice and helpful.

Call ahead. Best Thai food in Denver. I've been in Denver for almost 10 years now and they've been consistent. It's authentic. This is my go to spot when feeling Thai hot. It's a clean small hole in the wall kind of joint. How I describe it to my friends is a Thai Grandma with a pan. Fresh.
This place is the epitome of low key. No seating inside, just those working. Call in your order in advance, and get anything off the menu. Highly recommend that Pad Thai and Thai Basil Fried Rice. The Thai Custard was also awesome. I've been to a lot of nearby Thai restaurants, and this has quickly become my favorite. There's another Thai restaurant that has gotten attention from Westword nearby.........this one is at least 10 times better and much more affordable. Limited hours, only open 4 - 9 PM Tuesday through Sunday. Plan to get it for dinner. Call and give them about 20 minutes.
I forgot how tasty this restaurant was until my recent visit back. Though Star Thai is located in a very quiet shoppette, the food is definitely what makes it stand out. There is no in restaurant seating anymore, which was available pre-pandemic, but the staff does a good job making sure your to go food is packaged properly and well. Speaking of the staff, the owner is one of the main chefs and front of house greeter. He is always so jolly and never lacks a smile. You definitely can feel his passion for the place just by talking to him and the taste of the food. I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken, the Pad Thai with chicken, and the Panang curry with beef. The soup was tasty and filled well, but the stars of the show were definitely the curry and the Pad Thai. The Panang did not taste oily at all and tasted very homemade and fresh as opposed to how some curry can taste from other restaurants. The Pad Thai was hands down the tastiest Pad Thai I have tasted in a very long time. The noodles were cooked just right, and there was plenty of chicken to go along with my bites. But the overall taste was just simply amazing. Though it's a bit of a drive from where I live, I will definitely be coming back more often as this is flavor that is hard to find
First time here so we ordered all of our go-tos to compare them vs other restaurants. Pad thai - really good,and not very sweet (my reason to dislike 99% of thai places in Colorado - Pad Thai is not supposed to taste like sweet & sour sauce!) Drunken noodles - got these spicy and boy it had heat. Would probably go w medium next time. But delish otherwise and not too greasy nor too dry (my reason to dislike 99% of Thai places in CO). Eggrolls - nothing special, 3 seemed a little small portioned for the price. The place is a hole in the wall with the nicest man working - take out only.
